Herta Mohr Lecture

The annual Mohr Lecture will showcase and focus on early career contributions to Egyptology. It is co-organised with RMO and funded by a private fund. The series is named after Herta Mohr, a native Austrian, who moved with her parents to the Netherlands to study Egyptology at Leiden University from 1937 onwards. Since mid-2024 NINO is housed in the Herta Mohr building.

The first Herta Mohr Lecture was held on 11 April 2025.

NINO-EOL Lectures

Two afternoon lectures are held each year at RMO (in spring and autumn), co-organised with Ex Oriente Lux. The intended audience consists of colleagues and students, EOL members, and Museum friends.

Book Launches

When affiliated researchers and colleagues in the Netherlands bring out a new volume – whether published with NINO/Peeters or elsewhere – NINO is glad to assist in organising a book launch in Leiden: an opportunity to present the new publication to colleagues, students, friends and family, and a celebration of the author’s achievement.
